When do you think the reunion should be? Dates?

We will take all suggested dates and make a poll to see which dates people prefer!

Canada Day Weekend Sounds Good

Alright, so im looking in my agenda trying to spot the long weekends next summer to give us some options. Canada day is on a Tuesday next summer... is that a transferable date? Does that mean the "day off" is on that Monday??

Anyways, these are what I think to be the long weekends next summer!!

June: Sat 21st, Sun 22nd, Mon 23rd (the 24th is the St John Baptist holiday in Quebec and I dont know if thats transferable to the Monday or not either!?)

June : Fri 27th, Sat 28th, Sun 29th, Mon 30th (if Canada day is transferable then I guess the 30th is the holiday but Canada day is actually on the Tuesday of that week)

August: Fri 1st, Sat 2nd, Sun 3rd and Mon 4th (Civic Holiday, Ontario)

Given the "interesting" summer we had last year and are having thus far this year as well, im very much leaning towards the August dates hoping that the cold will be gone and summer will be here. I think that we have usually had decent temperature in early August.

However, if we would like to possibly "team up" with things that may already be happening in the V-town area for existing celebrations such as Canada day then maybe we should consider that date.

I think that they still hold "pack the park" but instead of doing it at Mc Garry beach (aka Bear lake park) they do it at the arena in North V-town. Although im not sure of the date of that event, perhaps we could team up with the firefighters (who are the ones who organize that event) and make it into something a bit bigger.

OR, does anyone know the history of the Mc Garry township? Is there a special anniversary date coming up? What is the "birthday" of the township??

Ok current members of this site! As you can see the membership is not going up for this "reunion" so Melanie and I have decided that we will create an "Event" on facebook instead of using this website!

But before I can create the "event" I need to pick a date!! I think our best bet would be to do it the same weekend as Pack the Park. This way, some activities will already be there for the kids and for us adults too (balloon rides for kids and mud bog and pub for adults at the arena).

i will contact one of the firefighters to know when next years Pack the Park will be and will come back here to let you know!!
